John J. McDonough, M.D.

Dr. McDonough's service in the United States Navy fostered his love of sailing and naval history. His nautical interest, coupled with a pair of skilled hands, has led to his pastime of building beautiful model ships.

With initial training in vascular surgery, and extensive experience in hand surgery, he has become expert in the microsurgical techniques of replantation and free tissue transfer, as well as advanced cancer surgery.

An active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and author of many scientific papers, Dr. McDonough also serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati.
