Thomas R. Kiefhaber, M.D.

HSS Thomas Kiefhaber MDThe son of an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Kiefhaber knew from an early age that this was the career path he wished to follow. He shows the same respect and compassion for patients that he observed in his father.

Dr. Kiefhaber enjoys teaching the bright and skilled University of Cincinnati Orthopaedic Surgery residents, The Mary S. Stern Hand Surgery Fellows and Family Practice residents. He has contributed to the science of hand surgery through journal articles, book chapters and presentations at national medical conferences. Dr. Kiefhaber’s special interests include treatment of elbow and wrist disorders and congenital hand problems in children.

As an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati and busy hand surgeon, you couldn’t exactly say his head is in the clouds, but given the chance, Dr. Kiefhaber loves to go flying.
