Andrew D. Markiewitz, M.D.

HSS Andrew Markiewitz MDAndrew D. Markiewitz has been a practicing member at Hand Surgery Specialists for over seven years.  He brings an enthusiastic interest in clinical medicine, public policy, research, and education.  He remains active in all areas of hand and upper extremity concerns, especially the care of pediatric and general sports and traumatic hand injuries. 

While in Cincinnati he has completed a Masters in Business centering on Healthcare Affairs at George Washington University.  He has also been involved in the Ohio Patient Safety Committee in Columbus and the Ohio State Medical Association as a Delegate from Cincinnati.  He has also participated in a Cincinnati based healthcare forum. Prior to joining our team in Cincinnati he was Director of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Medical Center of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and the John McClellan VA Memorial Center in Little Rock, AR. He remains committed to research and education receiving The Walter G. Selakovich Faculty Award for Outstanding Contribution to Resident Education in 2002 while in Arkansas.

He remains active in Scouting, Coaching, and religious activities in Cincinnati.  His wife and children are very active in the Cincinnati community and are happy to have returned to Ohio having traveled the United States during his training and military service in the United States Air Force.
